eating disorder healing

Welcome to a transformative journey towards healing and empowerment in eating disorder recovery. I pride myself on a highly collaborative approach (working alongside therapists, physicians, and other healing practitioners), recognizing that the path to healing is unique for each individual.

Healing beyond skin deep.

Eating disorder recovery can be tenuous and deep. It goes beyond building a plate. The food is so much more than just food. I work alongside my clients on their healing journey aiding them in creating their unique relationship with food and body. I don’t have my own agenda for your journey. I help facilitate you in determining your own through true informed consent. So much of the eating disorder recovery process is dictated; here, you get to be the leader in your recovery.

A Highly Collaborative Approach

We believe in working hand-in-hand with your entire support team, including therapists and physicians, to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to your well-being. By integrating our efforts with high levels of care, we aim to provide a seamless experience on your journey to recovery.

Trauma-Informed Nutritional Counseling

My guiding principle is “Do No Harm”; as a result, the nutritional approach is rooted in trauma-informed nutritional counseling, acknowledging the profound impact trauma can have on one's relationship with food and body. With sensitivity and compassion, we guide you through a process that respects your individual journey, recognizing the importance of creating a safe space for healing.

Body Autonomy and Sovereignty

We understand the importance of fostering body autonomy and sovereignty. Through informed consent, we empower you to take control of your own health decisions. Our goal is to support you in building a positive and trusting relationship with your body, free from shame or judgment.

Non-Shaming Environment

I foster a non-shaming atmosphere where food and body image are approached with compassion. I aim to create a supportive environment that encourages self-acceptance and nurtures a positive relationship with food.

Systematic Approach to Nutritional Counseling

Taking a systematic approach to nutritional counseling means delving into the deeply rooted patterns, beliefs, and values that contribute to the development of an eating disorder. We collaborate with your therapist team to uncover the root causes, providing you with the tools to establish a new and healthier relationship with your body, food, and self. I bring in the philosophies of Internal Family Systems, Attachment, and Acceptance-based counseling to support root healing.

Uncovering Root Causes

Together, we explore the intricacies of your journey, using your eating disorder symptoms as a guide to uncover unspoken needs. By addressing the root causes, we empower you to make informed choices that lead to lasting change. Your journey becomes a map towards self-discovery and transformation.

Types of Eating Disorders I work with: Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating, ARFID, Orthorexia, NOS, Compulsive Eating, and body dysmorphia. I see clients from teens - adulthood. Have a child you need support with, please schedule a discovery session to discuss if we are a good fit.

No history of eating disorders, but have a “it’s complicated” relationship status with your body and food - we are still a great fit for exploration of your relationship with food and your body.

What People Are Saying

She is amazing!!! She is super non-judgmental and my sessions with her were a lot like having a hot cup of tea on a brisk day while soaking up the warmth of a fire with your sister who is also your best friend. If you totally give yourself to her completely and trust in her she will take wonderful care of your needs.
— Melissa
She really feels like a friend to me. She’s protective of me, my interests, my particular health profile, and she took care to treat me like a whole person. She is NOT supporting diet culture AT ALL! Woo! She is SUPER accessible when I was feeling stressed or just had questions. And she doesn’t give up. Also, maybe this isn’t everyone’s thing, but I really appreciated how she shared personal examples. It never made me feel like she was talking about herself, but rather made me feel not alone in any given situation!
— Mary

She’s about finding what works for her clients and she doesn’t subscribe to diet culture. I learned that a lot of the way that I think and feel, and my habits around food, have been created by diet culture - restrictive, feeling guilty, trying to follow a set meal plan with no room to indulge every now and again. She gave me full permission to create a healthier relationship with food that’s more sustainable and feels good.
— Katie
I’ve learned a ton about gut health and how our body uses food as fuel for energy. I also learned how to manage all of this new information in light of my difficult eating history. I’m also much more comfortable in my body knowing I am doing everything I can to improve my health but in a sustainable, judgment free way.
— Melissa
I have never felt this well after eating in the past 17 years as I have since working with her suggestions related to enzymes, nutrition support from real foods and finding satisfaction in eating have literally changed my life and clearly impacted my health positively as indicated by my lab tests.
